Braintree Chamber Privacy & Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

As with many websites braintreechamber.co.uk makes use of cookies. A cookie is a small group of characters that a website can pass to your computer for future retrieval. A cookie itself cannot identify you, although they may be used to identify your IP address. A cookie typically contains the domain of the website from which the cookie was created, the length of time the cookie will "live" for, and a value (usually randomly generated).

Why Do We Use Cookies?

We use cookies to gain anonymous visitor statistics - i.e. how visitors arrived at our site, what pages were accessed, how long visitors remained on pages, etc. This helps us to decide if we need to modify our website to increase usability.

Cookie Disclaimer

Any links within our website to third party websites may lead you to sites that also use cookies. Braintree Chamber cannot be held responsible for content or cookies from third-party websites.

By using the Braintree Chamber website you are agreeing to accept the Braintree Chamber Cookie Policy and agree to use your own browser's methods for managing or preventing cookies. We reserve the right to amend this policy from time to time and advise that it is your responsibility to check this Cookie Policy regularly. You will be deemed to have accepted any amendments to the Cookie Policy if you continue to make use of the website after a change to the Cookie Policy has been made.

Google Analytics Cookies

We use software called Google Analytics which is a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. in order to understand how visitors to our website use the site. The Google Analytics cookies remember you (anonymously) from one page request to the next, for example to differentiate between 'new' and 'returning' visitors. We receive reports from Google Inc. about website usage. Google Analytics cookies do not collect personal information about you.

Google Analytics deploys the following named cookies:

  • utma
  • utmb
  • utmc
  • utmz

For more detailed information about these cookies refer to: https://developers.google.com/analytics/resources/concepts/gaConceptsCookies

Session Cookies

Session cookies are used to 'remember' a user variable from page-to-page. These session cookies are normally deleted immediately upon exiting the browser, so no permanent information is stored. Without a session cookie, Braintree Chamber's member area or forum would be unable to process, or the member would have to log in on a page-by-page basis.
